Are you Researching your Dupre/Dupree/Dupray/Deupree family history?I am. I want to help you if I can. My Name is Jim Dupree see my tree hereJohn Dupree Tree    I am a decendant of one of the earliest Dupre's that arrived in America. 3 Dupre Brothers (Lewis, Thomas, and Jean(John)) Immigrated to America as Huguenots in the early 1700's due to religious persecution in France. I have a lot of information on these lines and know of many other researchers that have information on these lines. In an effort to bring all of this Dupre research together I have created this website. I have in my research found that a lot of information has already been found by other researchers. It didnt take long for me to realize many of these people were from the same lines. I thought to myself if these people only knew each other they could combine their information and create the Dupre genealogical tree and history in a way we could not do alone. If you want to be a part of this please e-mail me at borgite@aol.com The Dupre' Trail onlineThe most prominant informative book on Dupree Research is a Book Called the Dupre' Trail. This book is now online (a large portion more to come) See it here---> http://www.hal-pc.org/%7Erldupree/dupretrail.htmlTHE FOLLOWING SURNAMES ARE AMONG THOSE WE ARE RESEARCHING. DUPREE, BURRIOLA, RIBERA, RIVERA, SHORT, JUKNAVORIAN, KIRETCHJIAN, ELLIS, CLARK, COLE, GRANADO, ACUNA, DOMINQUEZ, FIELDS, LANGSTON,THURBER, LOWE, SHEPARD, ANDONIAN, SERAYDARIAN, CAMP,KEENEY.THE INFORMATION WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING IS:The parents of John Dupree and Nancy Short who were married in Brunswick Co. Va in 1780 or Mecklennburg Co. Va. in 1787.They were the parents of Griffin (NMI)Dupree b. 1813 in N.C.Source (Dupre Trail Vol 2, p. 29)COMMENT:It is obvious from the court records that the Dupree, DeUpree families of Lunenburg, Charlotte, Mecklenburg, and Halifax Counties are closely related, all being descendants 0f THOMAS and wife, SUSANNAH, of Lunenbung. The inference also is cle ar that this THOMAS was the son of THOMAS who died cal725 Henrico County and his wife, Margaret Easley Dupray. (See Vol. I,DupreTrail).THOMAS and SUSANNAH DEUPREE had the following children:1. Lewis Deupree, m. 1) Amy Willingham; 2) Median Atkinson.2. Joseph Deupree, m. Madame Nannie Sullivan (? - Unproven).3. Elizabeth, m. Thomas Whitlock4. Margaret, m. David Stokes, Sr.5. Mary, m. William Brizendine.(For proofs, consult Vols. I and II, The Dupre' Trail).Louis and Amy (Willingham) Dupree had:1. Drury Deupree, m. Ann Atkinson (dau. of Median above).2. Daniel Deupree, m. Sally Ellington.3. Lewis Jr.4. Sarah Deupree, m. James Pinson.5. Ann Deupree, m. Daniel Weatherford.6. Thomas (d. Charlotte Co. 1782 may have been a son).Lewis and Amy Deupree may have had other children, and it is believedthat JOHN DUPRE who shows up on Mecklenburg Co. Personal Property Tax Lists may have been his son and Amy's. This probably was the John Dupree married Nancy Short of Mecklenburg Co. (Vol. I and Vol. II, The Dupre Trail).JOSEPH DEUPREE and his wife (name unproved) had:1. William Deupree, m. 1) Amey Pettus, 2) Nancy Bailey (widow).2. Nancy, m. 1) Daniel Crenshaw; 2) Richard Knott. There may have been others, deceased, and not named in Will). The children of the daughters of THOMAS and SUSANNAH DUPREE, Elizabeth,Margaret, and Mary are mentioned in the will of Thomas Dupree. (Vol. I).Drury and Daniel Deupee, sons of Lewis and Amy, and perhaps Lewis and his second wife, Median (Atkinson), moved on to Laurens Co., S. C about l795. A Lewis Dupree died there in 1799, and Drury was appointed administrator of his Estate. By that time, Daniel had removed to Oglethorpe Co., Ga.; hereared a large family, and died there in l8~8. (See later). - A study of the records and other information in Vols I and II, The DuPre’ Trail, will confirm that this DANIEL DEUPREE, who died in Oglethorpe Co. Ga., was not the son of Lewis Dupre' who
