I have entered very, VERY brief listings on some of our primary surnames so you can quickly scan through. For a more comprehensive report, please visit my website (URL linked below), search the surname index, and easily check these individuals, their ancestors and descendants, as well as other surnames. Many of our primary surnames are : Bankston, Beem, Burt, Cothern, Dupy, Franklin, Harris, Holt, Kisner, Learned, Lockman, Lowe, McDonald, Robertson, Spain, Thornhill, Wilkerson, and Womack. Our Burt line is: John Burt b ca 1735 Chat County, NC through his son, Joseph b NC ca 1770, and his son, Willis b NC 1797. I am always trying to find connecting Burts to share information. Willis BURT's son Alfred, b NC 1824 married Lucinda FRANKLIN b 1832 TN in Franklin County, TN 1848. They had 12 children. Our Bankston line is: Henry b 1827, GA m Martha Jane McDonald b1836 GA, and settled in Bright Star AR. They had 12 children. Our Beem line descends from Michael b ca 1792 NC m Mary (Polly) Lockman b KY 1793. They had 10 children and lived in Jackson County, IN. Our Cotherns are sketchy. Patriarch is unknown b ca 1800 SC. Wife was Mary W. b 1805 SC. They were from GA and moved to AR. We have Newton T. Cothern, some siblings and descendants. The Dupy line begins in 1810 with John (The Gent) Dupy m Polly McGriff. They go ME, OH, IL. They have around 13-15 children (Help!) Some traveled to OK. Our Franklins are few. Only a possible name of Peter b late 1700's in VA m Rachael b NC or SC 1790. They are believed to have moved from Hawkins County, TN to Bedford County ca 1825. One known daughter, Lucinda,b 1832 m Alfred Burt and believed sister, Indiana m Lorenzo Smith. Our Holt family is from Frederick Holt of Cumberland County, NC b ca 1740 m Rebecca (maybe Putney). This lineage is believed to go back to Randall Holt b 1607, England. Our Lockmans go back to Vincent b ca 1760 NC m Ann Kirkland 1783 Orange County, NC. We have 9 children listed. The Lockmans migrated to Jackson County, IN. Our Lowe family begins with John Lowe b 1806 KY m Ann ? IN. The Lowes migrate to MO, then to OK. We have several generations. Our Robertsons are a real challenge. Our first is believed William b 1803 in MD. His wife was born in Germany. One researcher said her name might have been Rebecca Meixel, but we have no documentation for this. They had at least three sons; William Henry b 1825, George Washington (Wash) b 1831 PA and James H. b 1840 PA. At least two sons were in VA in 1850, and all of them were in Jackson County, IN in 1860. We have traced at least one son to MO, and OK. Our Wilkersons begin with James b 1786 VA , through James P. and Calvin b KY via IL to MO and OK. Many members of these families settled in OK. Cleveland, Lincoln and Pott. Counties.
