According to "From the Rhine to the Shenandoah," Vol I, Daniel W. Bly, Baltimore, Gateway Press, 1996, Henry "Darflinger" owned 240 acres in Loudon County and also owned several slaves.Henry first appears in the tax rolls of Loudon Co, VA in 1761 and is in the special 1787 tax enumeration. It appears that a Jacob Darlinger, possibly his brother, accompanied him to Virgina as Jacob appears in the same tax rolls. The sibling relationship has not been proven.
Other possible siblings to Heinrich may include:Gertrude (m. to Jacob Schirmer), Eva (m. to George Fout),Jacoband Frederick. This possibility is based on location and estimated ages. However, they very well could belong to a sibling line.Additionally,Henry Durflinger acted as security for an Eve Fout, widow George Fout of Loudon Co, VA.
Settlement of Henry's estate (inventory) has been obtained, but is extremely difficult to read; therefore, it will not be transcribed in these notes.
