Welcome to my family history page. On my paternal side, I am descended from John Durham of Kent County, Delaware. On my maternal side, I am descended from the House family of Preble County, Ohio.

John, Elisha, and David Durham migrated from Kent County, Delaware to Bartholomew County, Indiana sometime between 1850 and 1853. About ten years later, Elisha and John moved north and settled in Tipton County, Indiana. These three brothers were members of a mixed-blood community, several of whom left to go west during the mid- to later-nineteenth century. For more information about the community, see the links at the bottom of this page. On this website, I am mainly concentrating on the descendants of Elisha and John Durham; David Durham was a Civil War veteran who never married.

Major surnames in my paternal line are: Durham, Conselor, Gavin, Ferguson, Evinger, and Ike.

As with most genealogical endeavors, this one is ongoing. Please keep in mind that some facts have not yet been verified with primary source materials.

If you have any comments or information to share, I would be glad to hear from you. Likewise, I am happy to share any information I have.
