Former Elwood Resident Dies In Pennsylvania

Word was received this morning by Mrs. Jesse Moore of the death of a sister, Mrs. F.J. (Mayme) Ley of Aliquippa, Pa. which occurred last night in the hospital in that city. She had been ill for one week.

A former resident of Elwood, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Elizabeth Gavin. She was married to Frank J. Ley who is deceased.

Survivors include a son, Frank Ley Jr.; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Jesse Moore, State Road 13 north and Mrs. Ruth Sutton of Elwood.

The body is at the Pierce funeral home in Aliquippa, Pa., where friends may call.

Funeral Mass will be said in Catholic church at Aliquippa Friday morning at 9:30 o'clock. Burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery there.

Harriett G. Metzger

MUNCIE [Indiana] - Harriett Gavin Metzger, 85, a former Elwood resident, died March 12, 1996, at Muncie Health and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.

Survivors include her husband, Baird E. Metzger; niece, Harriett Anne Neese; nephew, Robert Gavin; several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services will be 3 p.m. Friday in Meeks Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Philip Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Elwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and prior to the services Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Daystar Center, in care of First Presbyterian Church, 1400 W. Riverside Ave., Muncie 47303.
