My married name is Durham and my maiden name was Parish. Both families have branches in Canada and the USA having immigrated from Europe. Ole Halvorsen Dorum born 1773 in Rye, Vang parish, Hedemarken, Norway had a son Halvor Olss (Olsen) Dorum born about 1797, who moved to the States after 1814. He had been an army officer in the Norweigian Army stationed at Fredrikshald now called Halden, Norway. My husband descends from Halvor's brother's line, Palle Gotfred Dorum, whose son Halvard Karl Joseph Dorum came to Canada in 1889 and settled in British Columbia. He anglicized his name to Charles Durham. I am interested in connecting with the descendants of the Halvor Olss Dorum branch in the USA. The descendants of Jonathan Parish and Elizabeth Cook, married November 28, 1671, in Trumfleet, Yorkshire, England have immigrated to both countries also. My great grandfather, Robert Simpson Parish, born February 13, 1830, immigrated to Toronto, Ontario in 1855. He had a son Thomas Seymour Parish, born December 19, 1861 who lived in Illinos. He had a son Robert Seymour Parish born March 03, 1886 whose descendants I am searching for from Cook's County, Illinois. Am also looking for descendants of Richard L. Hornibrook who died March 16, 1921 in Tucson, Arizona, brother to my greatgrandmother Margaret Anne Hornibrook of Toronto, Ontario. Their parents were Thomas Seymour Hornibrook & Frances Lynch, married October 31, 1835 in Kilshanning by Mallow, Cork, Ireland. E mail me at fnadur@rogers.com with info on these families. Thanks
