2. JEAN² DURAND* DIT LAFORTUNE (LOUIS¹ DURAND) was born Abt. 1636 in Doeuil-sur-le-Mignon, St. Onge, Charentes Maritime, France, and died 1671 in St-Jean, I.O., Que. He married CATHERINE ANENONTHA September 26, 1662 in Notre Dame de Quebec, Quebec, daughter of NICOLAS ARENDANKI and JEANNE OTRIHOUANDIT.
