MY RESTING PLACE
Think not of me as gone,
I now am in the morning dawn,
Nestled in God's loving care.
Search not the earth for I'm not there.
Gaze upon the lilac tree for that is where I will be.
More lovely now then has ever been, for the flowers
beauty lies within.
So search not the earth to find me, for I'm beneath the lilac tree,
With beautiful fragrance to fill the air, not in the ground,
I'm not there.
So dear children, when you think of me, look upon the lilac tree.

I cannot say and I will not say
That she is dead - she is just away!
With a cheery smile,
And a wave of the hand,
She has wandered into an unknown land,
And left us dreaming how very fair
It needs must be, since she lingers there.
And you - O you, who the wildest yearn
For the old time step and glad return,
Think of her faring on, as dear
In the love of There as the love of Here;
Think of her still as the same, I say;
She is not dead - she is just away!
