Notes for MELVINA DYKES: (The following is info from "Richard F. Johnston" <rjohn@nwla.com>, September 12, 2000 My Grandmother was Frances Melvina Dykes and was Married to William Thomas Johnston In Jasper County, Ms(Springer area), I believe at her Fathers or brothers, home or Office. B. F. Dykes was a J.P. This is from the Marriage Certificate. This was 27th day of February, 1887. B. F. Dykes, Sr. also came to Pelican and Lived with my Grandmother, until his death. He probably is burried in Pelican. (See also note for spouse) |

Notes for TOM JOHNSTON: (The following is info from "Richard F. Johnston" <rjohn@nwla.com>, September 12, 2000 My Grandfather William Thomas Johnston was the son of "Wash" Johnston and Effie Blackwell and I assume they lived in either Jasper or Jones County, Ms. I have been interested in finding out about the Johnston family ties to this area. My Grandfather's brother was Albert Johnston and he then had four step brothers, Bragg, Levy, Alonza and Frances Johniken. (See also note for spouse) |
