Family Bible:Robert Blakey departed this life June the 17th day (the rest is torn away)
:May 6, 1822 - ADAIR CO., KY. - Deed Book E/677: This Indenture made this
6th day of May 1822, between William Caldwell, Clerk of the County Court
for Adair County, of the one part and James Sweny of the County aforesaid
of the other part.
Witnesseth that Caldwell, as Clerk of Court, by virtue of an order of
said Court, hath put and placed and by these presents doth put and place,
ROBERT BLAKEY, a poor boy of this County, with the said Sweny, with him to
dwell during the term of seven (7) years or until the said apprentice shall
arive the full age of twenty one years and said Caldwell, on his part
covenants that said apprentice, during the term aforesaid, his said master
is all his lawful commands shall will and truly and gladly obey and said
Sweny on his part binds himself to teach and instruct said apprentice the
ART & MISTERY of GUN SMITH BUSINESS which he now professeth and us and
further to allow and provide for, said apprentive sufficient meat, drink
and wearing apparel necessary and fit for an apprentice, and teach or cause
the same to be properly done, the said apprentice, reading, writing and
common arithmetic, including the rule of three, and at the expiration of
said term, to allow and give unto said apprentice one complete suit of
clothes to be decent and new, and three pounds, ten shillings current
money.
In testimony whereof, the said parties have hereunto set their hands and
seals the day and year aforesaid.

Joint Affidavit in the widows claim of daughter Elizabeth Blakey George:
We ROBERT BLAKEY and SARAH L. BLAKEY each of lawful age and residents of the County of Russell in the State of Kentucky upon our oaths declare that we are personally well aquainted with Elizabeth George who is a pensioner of the United States and who is the widow of John George deceased who was a Private in Co. G of the 12th Regiment of Kentucky Veteran Infantry Vols. and that we are also personally well aquainted with all of the children of the said Elizabeth George by her late husband, the said John George the names and ages of her children aforesaid towit: JAMES R. GEORGE borned on the 23 day of April 1856; and IVY GEORGE borned on the 26th day of July 1858; that we and have been very close neighbors to Mrs. George and family ever since she was married to said JOHN GEORGE and know the above to be the ages of her children, that she has no other children except These mentioned above,and that the said ELIZABETH GEORGE has not abandoned the support of her said children. We swear that we have no interest whatever in making this statement.

Between ROBERT BLAKEY and ELIZA, his wife of Russell Co., Ky. first part &
G. T. Whitney of Louisville, Ky. Party of the 2nd part.
For a valuable consideration does hereby grant and lease unto the said
Whitney, the sole and exclusive right to all the OIL, COAL, SALT or other
MINERALS in, upon and under a certain tract of land, the farm upon which I
live on Crocus Creek on the Waters of Cumberland River in Russell Co., Ky.
Bounded by the land of JOHN COE on the East, JOHN CAPE on the West.
JOHN COE, Jr. on the South, WILLIAM RIPPETOE on the North, containing one
hundred and thirty acres, for the term of fifty [50] years, together with
the right during the said term to enter upon the said land and occupy so
much of the surface thereof as shall be necessary to carry on the
operations of boring or mining for the said oil or other minerals,
collecting and storing the same and preparing the same for market, yielding
and paying therefor unto the party of the first part, the Tenth part of all
the oil or other minerals obtained upon the premises, in good and
marketable condition, said oil to be put in good barrels, to be furnished
by the party of the first part.It is also agreed that the parties of the
second part shall have the timber that may be necessary for the erection of
engine houses, derricks and framework for putting down wells and firewood
sufficient for running the engines until said wells are complete.The
parties of the second part shall also have the right to remove their
engines, pipes, tools, ropes and machinery whatever, whenever, they shall
choose to abandon operations.It is further agreed that as soon as the
parties of the second part shall have fully explored and tested the said
lands to their satisfaction, they shall abandon the same and this lease
shall then be null and void and as if it had never been made.

my Home in future as it has been in the past, the receipt wh___ is hereby
acknowledged, have bargained and __ and by these presents do convey and
condirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns
