Notes for Robert Stockton:
Originated the DRIPPING SPRINGS BAPTIST CHURCH in 1798. The first meeting was at the home of his father-in-law WILLIAM F.BLAKEY on Feb. 3,1798
This is the Robert Stockton often referred to as the "Elder" or "Reverend" and was a Baptist preacher (Dripping Springs Baptist Church). Robert and his family migrated from Virginia in 1799. Information from "The Times of Long Ago, Barren County, Kentucky", by Franklin Gorin. This book also states that Robert was a Revolutionary veteran. Robert was a minister of the gospel for over 50 years.
