The EARHART line traces back to George Earhart, an immigrant from Bavaria who brought his family to Pennsylvania and then settled in Iowa. The WIGGINS, BUCHANAN, MORRIS and SHIPLEY branches of our family mainly settled in the mountains of western North Carolina and east Tennessee during the times when that area was the wild, western frontier.
