Obituary:

Mrs. Lydia Flora Died In Colorado

Thos and Mansel Jones of the Dawn country returned a few days ago from Julesburg, Colo., where they were called by the death of their sister, Mrs. Lydia Flora, of Julesburg, who died of appoplexy on the 8th after being stricken on the 5th.

Mrs Flora was born on February 28, 1854, and in early girlhood moved with her parents to Carroll County, where some years later she married John Anthony Flora, and in 1885 they moved to Sedgwick county, Colo., locating on a farm near Julesburg, and that has ever since been the family home. Mr. Flora died six years ago. Their four sons and one daughter survive. They are Thomas R. Flora, Mrs Minnie May McCant, Ernest S.. Omer C., and Arthur Blaine Flora all residents of Sedgwick county.

Old friends in this vicinity will remember very kindly this estimable lady, of whom the Julesburg papers speak in most eulogistic terms.

Plymouth Lady Found Dead in Barn

The Dead Body of Mrs. Diana Hughes Was Found in The Barn at Her Home Near Plymouth Sunday Evening--Heart Failure Caused Death.

Obituary:

Mrs. Diana Hughes, 65 years old, was found dead in her barn at the home northeast of Plymouth about 6:30 o'clock Sunday evening.

The body was found by Dan Hughes a son, when he went to the barn to do the chores, and it is thought that she had only been dead a short time when the body was found.

Death was attributed to heart failure as she had long been affected with this disease.

Mrs. Hughes is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lee Jellum of Chillicothe and Mrs. Victoria Settle of Oklahoma and two sons Webb and Daniel Hughes.

The funeral services will be held at the Enon church tomorrow afternoon after which the body will be laid to rest in the Enon cemetery.

According to Mrs Lula Johnson Maack, there were some others also namely: J.A. Heare, Am anda Heare, Emanuel Johnson, Francis Johnson, R.J. Hughes, and Mary Hughes.
R.J. Hughes was baptized by Rev. T. M. Griffith on May 3, 1891.
Emanuel and Francis Johnson were baptized on March 26, 1891.
R.J. and Mary Hughes by redition (This must be mispelled as there isn't such a word, the y must have meant rededicate).
Wm. R. Hughes was restored to fellowship April 9, 1892. No record of his conversion o r dismissal.
Bethany Baptist Church was dedicated August 4, 1898. The ground was donated by Isaac Jo hnson.
Ada Johnson was converted and received by the church as a candidate for Baptism Novembe r 17, 1898.
August 5, 1900, Mrs. Wm. R. Hughes (Diana) wanted to be dismissed. Pastor made a ver y instructive and pastorly talk. Motion was made and carried that Mrs. Hughes be taken fro m the roll. She was later restored October 15, 1905.
Anna Hughes presented herself for Baptism, March 17, 1896 and was baptized April 5, 1896 .
On a Sunday, December 11, 1898, Vickie Hughes presented heself for Baptism. This must h ave been a mistake as there was a letter from the Ludlow Baptist Church asking Bethany Baptis t Church to receive her into the church which they did on Sunday December 11, 1898.
August 6, 1900, Charskie and his sister Cora Settle were received as candidates for Bapt ism an Ordinance was performed the following eve at 4 o'clock.
On Jan 10 and 11, 1903, Lisenby Settle and Frank Coldiron were presented to the church a s candidates for Baptism to be administered later on. Frank Coldiron became a member on Febr uary 6, 1909. We don't know the reason for the delay. Lisenby Settle was Baptized Novembe r 5, 1905.
A revival meeting was held September 24 - October 15, 1905 by Rev. Maguire. There wer e 19 persons converted and 18 presented themselves for Baptism. The following were:

Baptism was performed October 15, 1905 at 3 o'clock.

Maggie Hughes was received into the church as a candidate for Baptism April 1, 1905 an d was baptized August 6, 1905 an don September 3, 1905 was given the right hand of fellowship .
On May 31, 1906 a request was granted Maggie Hughes from Calvary Baptist Church, Los Ang eles, California to unite with the Bethany Baptist Church. Evidently she had moved, her lett er to California was being transferred back. Sunday July 31, 1906 she was received by letter . They had receved the letter it seems on June 17 but the letter was granted on July 31st.
Mabel Mathews presented herself on March 4, 1906 for Baptism and was baptized May 6, 190 6.
On December 30, 1907 the follwoing presented themselves for Baptism and afterward full f ellowship into the church, the meeting ran through January 12, 1908:

November 15, 1907 the hand of fellowship was withdrawn from Mrs. Dollie Settle Buck fo r joining the Campbellite Church.
November 16, 1908 Brother D.J. Griffith was voted in as pastor and commenced his pastora te December 13, 1908.
There must have been a revival between December 13, 1908 and February 6, 1909 as the fol lowing became members of Bethany Baptist Church with Bro. Griffith as pastor on February 6, 1 909:
Frank Coldiron
Dan Hughes
Webb Hughes
Dave Hughes

" There was much more to the history of the church and many other people that joined them selves with the church but this is mostly about our family and those that joined the church a t the same time that they did. This record only went to 1909. Written by Darlene Hughes Bun tin taken off the record book at that time. Some was hard to make out but did the best tha t I could. "
