"This is to verify that Dieker, G. B. & Fuchs (Fox), Matilda were united in the Sacred Bonds of Matrimony at this church on January 12th, 1886. Witnesses to this marriage were: Father John W. J. Schmandt, official witness of the Church, and Francis Dieker, Christina Fuchs, witnesses for the couple. Additional Information: For the Bride - Parents: Hugo Fuchs (Fox) & Elizabeth Winhoefer (Wintaffer). For the Groom - Parents: Clement Dieker, Anna Timmerwilken. This information is recorded in the Marriage Register, Book A, page Records at Sacred Heart Parish, 508 South 14th Street, Sabetha, Kansas 66534, Phone 913-284-3068, as of 1995.

Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Dieker came to the Olpe community from Westphalia in 1912. They purchased a farm 1 1/2 miles north of Olpe that is now owned by John Redeker, Jr. G. B. Dieker, grandfather of Mrs. Redeker, purchased this farm from Michael Sterbenz, great-grandfather of Mr. Redeker. Except for a 4 month period, this farm has been owned by family members of either Mr. or Mrs. Redeker for 97 years. With Mr. and Mrs. Dieker, came three sons and a daughter; Albert, who now resides in Mt. Angel, Oregon; Ernest, (deceased); Joseph, an Emporia resident; and Bertha, who resides in a rest home in Wichita. Two married children, George and Minnie, later followed their parents to Olpe from Westphalia.

FUNERAL OF G. B. DIEKER
Olpe, April 29 - Funeral services for George B. Dieker, who died Monday, were held this morning at 9:30 o'clock at the St. Joseph's Catholic church. Rev. Father John, pastor of the Hartford Catholic church, conducted the services. Pallbearers were John M. Sterbenz, J. Brown, E. Boltz, Peter Brown, John Traffas and John Erpelding. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Out-of-town friends and relatives who attended the funeral were: B. N. Dieker, of Hanover; Peter Buser, George Buser, Victor Buser, and C. H. Wempe, all of Seneca; Conrad Wempe, of St. Marys; A. J. Wempe, of Frankfort; Lawrence Dieker, of Tampa; Mrs. Elizabeth Dieker, Mr. and Mrs. Clem Dieker and family, John Dieker, Mrs. Agnes Johnson, Mrs. Elizabeth Vohs, Fred Hoefler, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dieker and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dieker and family, all of Westphalia.
