I am researching the GROTKE family from Erie County, NY. I can trace them back to Gottfried GROTKE who was born in 1795 in Prussia. He was married to Helena METZNER. Their children were John, William, Henry, Susan and Hannah. Another family I am researching is the OTTERMAN family also of Erie County, NY. I can trace them back to Jacob OTTERMAN who was born in 1851 in Germany. He was married to Caroline ARNOLD who was born in 1854 in New York. Their children were Malinda, Henry and Dora. The WENGER family of Erie County, NY is also of interest to me. I can trace back to Christen WENGER who married Anne Marie Catherine WASER. Christen was born 3/2/1783 in Grindelwald, Bernese, Oberland, Switzerland and Anne Marie was born in Engelberg, Unterwalden. I know of one child, Joseph Benedict WENGER who married Theresa Rose HOLZMANN. Other families of interest are the BAMBERG family and the STEFFEN family. I believe most are from the Buffalo, NY area. |
