Notes for JAMES EATON: !James died on the afternoon of Jan. 14, 1844. His brother, Lewis, age 3 yrs and 7 mos., died the same day in the evening. Their brother , Thomas, age 2 yrs. and 8 mos., had died two days earlier on Jan. 12. James was 5 yrs. old. On Jan. 25, 1844 a fourth brother , Robert Harris, age 9 mos., died. As of this date this was all of the children of Robert A. Eaton and Lydia Gill Eaton. All dead within one month of scarletfever. |

Notes for ROBERT ISAAC EATON: !Robert was first named Robert Mowl. Later his name was changed to Robert Isaac. He was obviously named for Isaac Mowl, an uncle of his father. !Robert and his brother, Andrew Henry, were the only children of Robert Adams Eaton to reach adulthood with the exception of Jacob Harris who was killed in the Civil War at age 20. Robert never married and was known by most of his relatives as "Uncle Bob". ! SOURCE: Gravestone gives birth year as 1846, 1900 Federal Census gives birth as Apr 1847. Samuel is listed directly above Mary Jane in the schedule and the age is right.) !
