I am researching the Eaton surname. The line of Eatons I am related to came over from County Fermanagh, Ireland, and after four years in Pennsylvania, settled in Giles, Co, Virginia.
The "new" family bible which was started in 1802, opens with, "David Eaton and family left Ireland out of the County Fermanagh, Kilskerry Parish on Monday the fourth of May, 1802. Landed in Philadelphia July 1, 1802. Made out to Sherman Valley, Cumberland Co., Penn. Left there in April 1806, for Walkers Creek, Giles Co., Virginia, all in good health, thanks to the Giver of All Mercies to us..."
I have much information to share concerning David's descendants, and would like to hear from those of you who may provide information on David's ancestors in Ireland and England. He was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Beatty) Eaton.
