Find Family

This project started out as research to my immediate family roots, going back to when we came to America. I had family information in some files I haven't looked at in years, and was surprised at the rich history we have. Through the internet, I have found many more links to our past, and much new history.I am not a genealogist, others have done all the foot work before me. I have researched their work and put it together here.

The main focus of my search is the EBIE family. Our ancester, David Eby, came to America in the early 1700's from Switzerland, and the Palatinate region on Germany.

Johann Jacob KIMMEL came to America with his brothers, Valentine and Philip on September 14, 1751, aboard the "St. Andrew",from Gimbsheim, in the Palatinate region of Germany.

Jacob MISHLER, with his brother Joseph, came from Switzerland and the Baden-Durlach region of Germany and emigrated to America on "The PHOENIX" Sep. 17, 1749.

Frederick YOUNG (born Godfrey Armingeon)came to America from Wuerttemberg, Germany, in the Rhine Valley, in September, 1753, on the ship "Patience", with his parents, Pierre and Madelene Armingeon and his brothers, Peter, John, and Daniel.

All of these families came from the same area around the Rhineland-Palatinate region. There is a related link below for the history of this region. Most of these families emigrated to America due to religious persecution. They all settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, then Stark County, Ohio.

My mothers family, the CONLEY'S, originated in Galway Bay, Ireland and arrived in America in the 1790's with Jeramiah O'Connolly, and settled in West Virginia.

If, as you search your family history through these files, you find you have information I can include, please send me an e-mail. I would also recommend you vist the web site of B. Dawn Quast (Eby), her link is listed below. (EBY FAMILY HOME PAGE (Abee, Aebi, Eaby, Ebey, Ebi, etc.)
