                  A Thomas Bailey moved to the Taylor County region by 1803 when he married Nancy, daughter of Thomas and Sarah Barlett, 21 Oct 1803. Record from Taylor County chancery file box 2, Bailey vs. Bailey 1840-1849 proves Thomas and Thornsberry Bailey (1782-1850) were brothers. Their ancestry has not been traced.

                  Also in Taylor Co. Hy. is mention of a Rev. Benjamin Bailey marrying people 1870's, 80's. A Cyrene Ford married John W. Bailey (1840-1931 and they lived in Baileytown (Northeast Taylor Co.) Pioneer settler in Fetterman District (northeast area borders Monongalia and Preston Counties) of Taylor County - John Bailey among others.
