      64. Jonathan Custer, Sr., born 04 Oct 1738 in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania (Source: Margaret Kinsey, Ball Cousins, (Gateway Press, Baltimore, Maryland 1981), Page 241, Jonathan Custer/Custard was born 4 Oct 1738 is stated in the text by the author who later cites the Custer Bible which says "Jonathan Custer was born ye 4 day of October in the year 1783 (could be transposed).); died Bef. 13 Nov 1823 in Amityville, Berks County, Pennsylvania (Source: Donald M. Custer, "Descendants of Paul Custer (Son of Arnold) and His Wife Sarah Ball Custer," Unpublished 1974 work. Copy obtained from the Denver Public Library, Denver, CO., Page 22, "...letters of administration (for the estate of Jonathan Custer, Sr.) were granted to Rosanna Custer, widow of Jonathan, Jr., and to his son Samuel, on November 13, 1823."). He was the son of 128. Paul Custer and 129. Sarah Martha Ball. He married 65. Hannah Peters Abt. 1759 in Pennsylvania.

      65. Hannah Peters, born Abt. 1735 in Pennsylvania; died 1805 in Amityville, Berks County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of 130. Hendrick Peters and 131. Bernadine.

Notes for Jonathan Custer, Sr.:
In "Ball Cousins" by Margaret Kinsey published by Gateway Press 1981 on page 241 there is an exerpt from a Custer Family Bible. This is from the Custer file at the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania:
Custer Bible, Printed at Basel by Emanuel Thurneysen, 1767. Miller C. Amon, Reading.
"Peter Custer son of Jonathan Custer and Hannah his wife was born ye 21 Day of February in the year 1760. John Custer son of Peter Custer was born ye 10 day of December in the year 1781..."
"Church Record of St. Luke's Reformed Church formerly Providence
Reformed Church (Trappe) Providence Township, Montgomery County,
Pennsylvania" copied Nov 1928 by Wm. J. Hinke. This is a more complete
transcription than the one by John Humphrey.
The original records are in a large book 6 1/2 X 16 inches 360
pages. The baptisms are on pages 12-29 in the original book 1760-1825.
The pastor 1748-1784 was John Philip Leydich, also spelled Leidig
elsewhere in the records.
This transcription is on Microfilm #137a from the Evangelical
Reformed Historical Society, 555 West James Street, Lancaster, PA
17603.
Jonathan's children listed are: PETER born 1760, baptized 1760,
godparents are Peter Heckroth and wife; HANNAH born 26 Dec 1761,
baptized 1761, godparent is Bernhardina Peters - the grandmother;
JONATHAN born 28 Sep 1768, baptized 1768, godparents are John
Miller and
wife; GEORGE born 14 Sep 1770, baptized 1770, godparents are the
parents.
I did not find a record for the baptism of BENJAMIN born 1763.
However he and his descendants are listed in the distribution of the
Joseph Ball estate as descendants of Jonathan Custer. Perhaps Pastor
Leydich failed to enter Benjamin's baptism or it was not transcribed?
