Ohio Volunteers. They then moved to Kansas, Dickinson County, and then Smith County.

She married TIMOTHY WILCOX BLISS 28 Jun 1836 in Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, son of DANIEL BLISS and MASSA COOCK. He was born 04 Jul 1812 in Stonington, CT, and died Aft. 1900 in Ohio County, West Virginia.

HANNAH b. May 12,1812, m. June 28, 1836 TIMOTHY W. BLISS, died after
1887. The following from a newspaper article in Wheeling, WV:
" On the 28th day of June 1836, Mr. T. W. Bliss, than a hatter doing
business at Uniontown, Pennsylvania, was married to HANNAH CUSTER,
daughter of JOHN CUSTER, of that place, the ceremony being performed by
Reverend John Morgan, a pastor of the Presbyterian Church. Today,
therefore, is the fiftieth anniversary of the happy event and
congratulations and well wishes will be showered upon the estimable
couple who for more than forty of the fifty years of their married life
have been residents of this city. (Wheeling, W. Va.) Unable to have
their family united under their own roof upon the day which recalled to
Mr. and Mrs. Bliss such pleasant memories of long ago. Mr. Bliss a few
days ago left for Kansas and Missouri to visit three children who have
settled there, while Mrs. Bliss remains at home to greet those of the
family living in this city.

Mrs. Bliss, who is a relative of the dashing General Custer, whose
massacre by Indians is so well remembered and widely deplored, comes
from a family distinguished for its soldiers. Her great grandfather
fought through the Revolution, her grandfather, Peter Custer, was a
soldier of 1812, and John Custer, her father, served with distinction in
the army along in the 20's. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Bliss
resided at Uniontown for six years, then two years at Moundsville
(Marshall Co., W. Va) and in 1844 moved to Wheeling where they have
since constantly resided. Of the guests of that long ago wedding, Mrs.
Bliss recall the names of Rev. John Morgan and wife, Rev. Thomas Hudson
and wife, Rev. David Hess and wife, and Franklin Hellin and sister, all
of who are now dead except Mrs. Hellin."
