The Dennis and Eden Families from Tennessee to Oklahoma

The beginning of my genealogy research was not intentional. At a family reunion I was asked to look for information on my husband's great-grandfather in Oklahoma where we live. A new friend who had done research for many years offered to assist. As you guessed, I was hooked.

I am interested in all my ancestors and their families, but particularly the cousins now living. Making a connection with a second or third cousin or one five times removed is great fun, and often provides new data. If you are a cousin, please contact me.

My brick wall is the place I began my research. My husband's great-grandfather Samuel E. Edens seems to have no parents! At least none I have proven him connected to at this point. I show his parents as John Miller Edens and Mary Blythe, who did have a son by the same name with corresponding birthdate and birthplace, but I have not proven the relationship.

Edens - Martin - Cox (192 KB) This is the family tree for my husband Jack Dale Eden. Although I show Samuel E. Edens to be the son of John Miller Edens and Mary Blythe, I have not been able to prove or disprove that data. Bess - Howerton (221 KB) My maternal ancestors. Dennis - Russell - Carver - Spicer (196 KB) This is my paternal family tree. Thomas Russell is shown as son of Isaac Russell which was family information; however, I do not believe I have the correct Isaac Russell as his father. This is a connection I am currently working on. Clemens - Duncan (198 KB) Another maternal family tree of mine. Davies - Watson (106 KB) The Davies are my husband's connection to Wales.
