I am researching my families history (Edin and Lund) in the U.S. and Sweden. The information is extremely hard to locate and any help would be appreciated. My paternal grandparents are Andrew Peter (Anders Peder) Edin and Emma Erika Lund. Andrew was born in Overammer, Jamtland, Sweden July 18, 1869 and Emma was born in Upsala, Sweden February 11,1873.
Andrew's parents were Nils Johan Andersson Edin and Christina Agneta Johsdotter. He came to the U.S. in 1893 with 3 other brothers (Victor, Ben and ?), they traveled thru Norway to England to Quebec ? to Minnesota. Victor lived in Duluth in 1955, one brother lived in Chicago, Ill and one in Minneapolis ?
Emma's parents were Peter Eric Lund and Charlotte Fredrika Gaufin. She came to the U.S. in the early 1870's not long after birth. Peter and Charlotte were both born in Sweden and traveled to this country in the early 1870's and homesteded in western Nebraska. About 1880 they moved to Mankato, Minnesota where Peter worked in the stone quarries and Charlotte ran a boarding house. In the early 1890's they moved to Sandstone, Minnesota where Peter worked in the quarries. Peter died August 7, 1900 and Charlotte died July 17, 1915 in Sandstone, Minnesota but there is no record of burial. Peter and Charlotte had two other children John E. Lund and Hanna Lund who married a Peter Peterson.
If anyone has any information on my family I would truly appreciate it. If you are part of this family, contact me. I may be able to fill in other holes in the family.
