In Bradford County, Virginia she declares that John Jackson and her have five children and they had been married for 10 years. He volunteered in Bradford Virginia to march against the Cherokee Indians and on his way , he joined Col Christi at the Big Lick. He later marched to Richmond and Petersburg where he joined General Steuben. He was later in battle and retreated to Broad River where he was discharged. During August of 1781, He marched to shingle block on Grove Creek where he received the news that Cornwall had surrendered and he was allowed to return home. although John Edwards died in Washing ton County, Tennessee, in October 1833 he was issued Pension Certificate #25221 on December 1833.
