The Salfelders has been located on Staten Island for over 5 generations. We now can be found in different parts of the United States. Salfelders are located here in New York, Florida, Illinois, Texas, Washington, and Virginia.

I am trying to locate and document all family members. History of our origin is sparse at this time but I have been locating past famiy members. Will keep looking and adding on my fathers side and eventually add my grandmother's Irish side.

Any information will be shared with all famiy members and any contributions if dates, names or whatever will be appreciated.

Most Salfelders have had their beginnings here on Staten Island where I live. My grandfather, Franklin Louis Salfelder was born here and married Emily Darrin also of Staten Island, New York. My grandfather was one of about 8 children. My grandfather had 7 children. There were 5 males-Frank, Harold, Everett, Wilbur and Richard. Two females, Edith and Helen. My father was Frank. He had 4 sons and me. My oldest brother Frank had 2 children Elaine and Kenneth. Elaine has one son Bill and they live in Washington. Kenneth lives in Virginia. Next was Fred. He had 2 sons Fred and Steven. Both sons live in Texas. Fred had one daughter Naomi and son Jeremy, they live in Washington. Steve had daughter Katherine and son Christopher who also live in Texas. Brother Ed had two boys. Ed lives in Illinois and Joe lives in New York. Brother Gene had 2 sons. Gene and Frank both live on Staten Island. I have 5 children-4 daughters and 1 son who all live in Staten Island.

This is just 3 generations. There are now 2 more generations to be added to the family. Some of these members have passed on but they are not forgotten.
