| Hello, cousins near in far! Please contact me if you are researching any of the lines or surnames mentioned on the webpage. I welcome corrections and additions; however, please include a source/reference for your information. Family stories, legends, or information about military service (particularly Revolutionary War service)are welcome - I would love to hear about it. The majority of my family research so far has been in the following areas: Medieval Europe, CT, NJ, NY, MA, MD, VA, WV, OH, PA. Surnames include, but are not limited to: Ables, Allday, Baldwin, Benjamin, Bennett, Bills, Bradbury, Bruen, Brown, Bumgardner, Champion, Collins, Davisson, Duckworth, Engles, Enochs, Farence, Hendershot, Huntley, Johnson, Littlejohn, Massey, McKendrick, Mitchell, Morehead, Perkins, Ross, Schoolcraft, Shafer, Somerville, Thompson, Tichenor, and many more. Through published lineages, I have linked some lines to royal houses in Europe (Plantagenet, Capet, Charlemagne, etc.). I am interested in the family names Goushill, Stanley, Percy, Neville, etc. I haven't done any primary research for Europe at this time; I am just a chick with a library card... Check out our link to Princess Diana.... SPECIAL INTEREST: 1. Can anyone out there tell me where Cordelia Duckworth Mitchell (later Brown) is buried? Last seen living with her daughter, Elizabeth Patterson, in WV 1900 Federal Census of Roane County. First husband was Marshall Mitchell; second was Thomas Brown. Would like to know the date of death and final resting place of Thomas or Cordelia. 2. Thomas Brown bc 1815 (poss PA) married Ruth Bills (dau of William and Martha Alley Bills) in 1835, supposedly in Marshall County. Recently, an old bible referenced Thomas' father's name as John and his grandfather as "Josias". Please contact me if you are working on a John Brown in early Ohio Co or Greene Co PA. [2011] 3. Would like to contact anyone researching the Ables of WV, known to have lived in Monongalia in late 1700s and early 1800s, later seen in Mason and Jackson Counties in WV. Line includes Anthony, Anthony Jr., Martin, Alexander, Jacob and their spouses/families. Has anyone ever determined if Martin's father was Anthony? What was your proof? 4. Cordelia Duckworth looks like the daughter of Henry and Abigail Duckworth, but the only place she is seen with them is in the 1850 Census of Barbour Co WV. Anyone out there have anymore info? CORRECTIONS AND CONNECTIONS ARE ONGOING...Here are the latest: * Thanks to Mary Kenney and Larry McGirr for finally clarifying the correct spelling of William Duckworth's wife Mary Jane's maiden name as McGirr (have seen this as McGic, McMic, etc. and just had to take the best shot!). |
