A chance visit to the foyer of the Museum in Sale Victoria Australia in 1983 drew my attention to a large crochet work which was acknowledged as the work of Ann Monger in the late nineteenth century. Ann's father was found to be my Great Great Grandfather William Monger and I was proud to discover that he had constructed the beautiful original Sale Hospital which was completed in 1867. It was a Neo-gothic style of building with two turrets and a dome. I have reserched my family history from that day in 1983. |
