Notes for Thomas M. Reid:
According to records found at the Frederick County, Maryland Historical Society, Thomas M. Reid and his family left Maryland in the Spring of 1812 and went to Louisville, Kentucky where their youngest son, Matthew was born. In 1815 they left Kentucky and bought land from the Federal Government in Scott County, Indiana.

On Nov. 11, 1825, Thomas M. Reid of Scott County, Indiana recorded a bill of sale from Leonard T. Reid of Montgomery County, Maryland where for $524 Thomas bought one Negro woman, Arey, 27 years old, Harriet, 8 years old, Rachel, 6 years, Susan, 5 years, and Mary about 2 years, 6 months.
