This photo, taken in LaCrosse, shows Hilda Eggler Olson on the right and Frieda Eggler Rinn on the left. Hilda had been diagnosed with a goiter, was scheduled for (then very risky) surgery, and William and Martha Eggler, their parents, wanted a keepsake in case she did not survive.
