The restored headquarters of the Upper Sioux Agency, Yellow Medicine, MN. It was destroyed in the Sioux uprising of 1862. My gg grandfather Henry D.J. Koons was interpreter to the Indian Agent at this location in 1861-1862, but he died before the uprising.
