My great-grandparents George & Martha Mae Koons Hewitt. She was the daughter of Henry David Jones Koons and Henrietta Allen with DAR roots on both sides; she died at age 27 on the Dakota frontier and he died a year later at age 36 in Minneapolis. Five children including my grandmother were left orphans. Both are buried at Shakopee in Scott County, MN.
