The family, which now uses the name EGLETON, has ben traced back to EDMUND EGGLIN at Gressenhall, Norfolk in 1750. His son WILLIAM EGLIN married Elizabeth Vincent at Gressenhall in 1788. Their son JOHN EGLIN (aka Egleton, Eggleton, Eagleton, Egling, Eglen) b. 1794 at Gressenhall, married Mary Ann Jeckyl (aka Jeckell) in 1821. Their son JOHN EGLETON (aka Eggleton, Egling, Eglington) b. 1826 at North Elmham, Norfolk, married Maria Carson (aka Curson) in 1853. Their son JOHN EGLETON (aka Eggleton), b. 1854 married Mary Pamela Lilystone in 1882 and they moved to County Durham in 1890; they had 13 children and the family is now dispersed around the UK.We are particularly interested in 18th century and earlier and would be happy to share any information. |
