"Eichbaum", in German, means "Oak Tree". From little Acorns, Great Oaks grow. The Family pictures included show the growth of Our Family Oak Tree! Barlane Ronald Eichbaum,"Ike" was born and educated in NJ, including obtaining a Ph.D. in Engineering from Rutgers University in 1956. He served in the military in WWII. On Thanksgiving 1947 Ike met a wonderful lady, "Bea" Beatrice Roth and they got married on August 26, 1950. We are Christians who love God, our Family and The United States of AMERICA. God blessed us with three daughters: Susanne Ethel Eichbaum b. 1953; Virginia Alice Eichbaum b. 1955 and Nancy Lynn Eichbaum b. 1959. We have had a happy married life for almost 50 years and have a wonderful family as shown in the Family Pictures. God has Blessed Us!
Ike's family lines include: Eichbaum, Wolff, and Heise from Germany. Oswald Edward Eichbaum came from Hamburg, Germany (migrated from Riga, Russia) in late 1800s to Ashtabula, Ohio. He married Anna Touras from Finland and had two children, including; Ike's father William Alexander Eichbaum & Nellie Thompson (Eichbaum). William met relatives of my mother's family(Bromleys) in Ohio which resulted in his moving to NJ and marrying Grace Etta Wolff, in 1917. Grace's grandparents Otto Wilhelm Wolff and Bertha Louise Heise came from Berlin, Germany to settle in New Brunswick, NJ. Their son, Charles Frederick Wolff, married Alice Eva Bromley. My mother, Grace was one of 9 children.
Ike's Robert Bromley line can be traced to Rev. War(Sgt. Isaac Burnham) and Ancient & Honorable Artillery of Mass.in 1633(Pvt. William Ballard) and Huguenots from France(Jean Meserolle & Pieter Praa/Prat). Also to Thomas Fuller m 1643 to Elizabeth Tidd, b Abt. 1626 in Woburn, Mass.
Ike is interested in obtaining information on: Edward Alexander Eichbaum; Otto W. Wolff; and Heinrich Heise & Caroline Leest lines in Germany from before 1900. Also information on Anna Touras Family from Finland in late 1800s.
Bea's Family has a tremendous heritage, back through the Roths, Smiths, and Smalleys in Piscataway, NJ to Edward Doty and Edward Fuller(who probably wrote The Mayflower Compact) who came over on The Mayflower in 1620 and Lt. Col. Micajah Dunn and Pvt. James Perrine who served in The Revolutionary Army in the Revolutionary War during late 1700s. Also to Pierre Perrine, a Huguenot who came from France in 1685. Three Colonial Clergy Pastors; Rev. John Lothrop who arrived from England in 1634 and Rev. Edmund Dunham and Rev. Jonathan Dunham, his son, both served as Church Pastors in Piscataway during the mid 1700s are in Bea's ancestral blood-line.
Bea is interested in in family ancestors going back from: William Smith b. 19 May 1795, married to Jane Ann Voorhees b. 1804 in NJ, and his parents Jonathan Smith b. 1755 & Elizabeth Wortman. Peter Huff m. Elizabeth Hall ,both born about 1830. Hannah Bird, b 1813 and m to Peter Perrine. Thomas Richards b. 1811 m to Catherine Ann Coddington. All of Bea's ancestors were from the Somerset County and Central New Jersey area in the mid 1800s. Some ancestors may have moved in from NY, Mass. etc.
Beatrice May Roth was born to Raymond Earl Roth and Marion Matilda Smalley (Roth) in New Brunswick, N.J. Marion's parents were Clarence Arthur Smalley and Ethel May Smith (Smalley), twin sister to Edna Van Cleef (Smith). Raymond's parents were: Joseph James Roth b. 1872 and Laura Bright(Roth), granddaughter of Jonathan Bright b. 1821.
