| I am researching my paternal families BOWDEN/BOWDON and OAKS/OAKES, and my maternal families FRANCIS and HODGE/HODGES. The earliest BOWDEN I have found thus far is Simon BOWDEN/BOWDON,born circa 1818 in Rutherford County, North Carolina. His wife Olivine Price Bowden was listed on the Polk County, Tennessee Census in 1860 with 8 children. The earliest Oaks thus far is Daniel Samuel Oaks, born circa 1791 in Pittsylvania County, VA (wife Sarah). The earliest FRANCIS I have found is William H. Francis and wife Delilah Quillen from either SC or VA . My earliest HODGE is John HODGES, born 1814 in Montgomery Co., VA, married to Fidilia Clark. I will be delighted to share any of my information with others, and will treasure any new information about any of these ancestors! |
