| I am researching the BRUNNER and EICHLER families. I am particularly interested in information on the parents of Max Bruno (or Bruno Max) EICHLER, b 8/5/1885 in NYC. Max Bruno had his own music publishing business in NYC until he went back to Germany because of his wife's health--or lack of it. I understand he had three siblings: Richard, Walter, and Frances (or Francis). His parents were from Germany (probably East Germany).I have been lucky to research the BRUNNERs back to Zuzwil, St. Gallen, Switzerland with the birth of Jakob Brunner on 6/7/1780--but the trail goes cold prior to that.Other names I am researching include: ALTER (Kansas); BIGGINS (Pa); BREITWEISER; BUESS; CHASE (Kansas): D'ANDREA; GERIG/GEHRIG (Switz); HELLWIG; HESS (Switz & NYC and prominent in embroidery business in NJ and in homing pigeon clubs); HUG (Switz): JOHNS; KASTEN (Germany); KUGLER (Switz); MERZ/MARZ (Switz); NOVAK (Austria & the then Czechoslovakia); PFANNER (Switz); PUREL (possibly Canada); SEIDENSTRICKER; TSCHUDY; and WILDHABER/WILDHARBER (Switz, Ill, & Ky).Curious to know if anyone has done research in East Germany. I do need some hints/tips for that project.Any information or leads would be greatly appreciated. Of course, I will be very happy to share any information I have. I'm not into reinventing the wheel...because I believe that what goes around, comes around! |
