| My family tree wanders all over the place. In general I am looking for FAUGHT (from Germany via Ireland); SIMMONS (Quaker family from Bucks Co. PA); PLAISTED (Kittery, Maine), DAMON (Wiscasset, Maine); CARLISLE (York, Maine);and DONELSON/DONALDSON (Ireland or Scotland through Kentucky, Indiana, to Oregon). In particular I would like to know: a. Who were HANNAH CARLISLE's parents (she was from York, Maine and married John Plaisted)? b. Where did JOHN SIMMONS (father of Henry of Bucks Co, PA) come from? First notice in the early 1700's but nothing before. c. What happened to my great-great grandfather, WILLIAM HIGHFIELD FAUGHT. He is supposed to have disappared in the late 1870's from New York City. He was born in Ireland may have returned there. d. What happened to my great-uncle, ADAM BANKS KURTZ, son of Christian and Barbara Metzler Kurtz? I've been actively following my family lines for more than 20 years and have few holes left. My success in hooking up with distant relative over the Internet and through AOnline has been phenomenal. The Web has been the greatest boon to us Geneas yet. |
