Find Family

I am researching George Adam Zentz's genealogy. He was my great-great grandfather. This is what I know so far. I am working on trying to add the family tree to this home page.
George Adam Zentz was the son of Adam and Anna Marie Snyder. Adam was the son of George Henry Zentz. I am not sure who George Henry Zentz was married to.

Adam Zentz was born in 1794 in Starke County, Ohio. Anna Marie was born in I believe in 1794 in Maryland. They had 8 children: David, George Adam, Anna Mary, Frederich, Rebecca, Ann Barbara, Catherine and Henry. Adam died on October 6, 1861 and Anna Marie died on November 28, 1858.

George Adam was born on October 19, 1824. He married Lydia Warstler on December 25, 1847. Lydia was born on September 28, 1826. They had 12 children: Harriet, Lydia Alice, Frances Subina, Mary Ann, Henry Adam, Katherine, John, Isaac, Nettie Sadilla, William Franklin, Albert Edward and Ira Oliver. My great grandfather was William Franklin Zentz. Lydia Warstler Zentz died on January 24, 1887. George Adam then married Lydia Essig. George Adam and Lydia Essig did not have any children that I am aware of. George Adam died on June7, 1905. I do not have any death date for Lydia Essig Zentz.

George Henry Zentz and his french wife and children came from Germany and landed on the shores of Virginia in approximately 1770. They originally came from Alsace Lorraine. The Zentz "clan" migrated south and others into Ohio. The Zentz men were mostly gunsmiths and metal workers. George Adam practiced black-smithing quite extensively in his younger years.

George Adam lost track of David and Frederich after they moved south and got married. He never heard from them again, that I am aware of. Henry and a sister (who's married name was Luttman), came to Indiana and settled around Waterloo and Kendalville. Most of the Zentz's lived and died around Starke County, Ohio.

I would be most thankful to anyone who could give me information on George Henry Zentz's family, Adam and Mary Snyder Zentz's family. I would love to hear from more family members!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can email me at the address listed or send it via "snail" mail. Our George Adam Zentz family reunions are usually held on the first Sunday of August. Any and all new family members are welcome. You can email me for more details.
