* The Ramona J. (Ackerly-Liles-McLaughlin) Eivins Home Page*

Updated September 6, 2000

Ramona Jeanne Eivins was born to Gloria Jeanne Ackerly at an unwed mother's home-hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, USA on August 08, 1945. Her young mother was eighteen-yrs-old, and beautiful to behold. Her shiny black eyes matched her glissening black hair; permed in a round face framing style with hair combs on each side pulled slightly off her equisite face. The features only a small woman can possess and carry like a statue. Ramona's birth certificate remains secured by the state of IOWA as her mother's second husband (Frank B. Goodrich of Osceola, IA, USA) leagally adopted her in 1952, and it would take a court order for medical reasons to release the original one belonging to her and her mother. Ramona's first memory of a father was a man by the name of Wayne Smith; her mother's first husband. Mr. Smith married Ramona's mother when Ramona was 6 mos. old. Ramona loved this big construction worker, with a easy going way, very much. The last place Ramona lived with her mother and Mr. Smith was in Northern Missouri around 1951 in a trailer. Mr. Smith's mother was also loving and kind to Ramona, and she has remembered her for a lifetime. On February 18, 1961 Ramona married Frederick Lee Eivins in Greene County Iowa, USA against the wishes of Frederick's mother Hazel Hickman from Northern Missouri. Ramona & Fred live in Clarion, Iowa now, and have since 1981. To there union were born seven fine sons. Daniel Wayne born in 1963 and died shortly after his birth. Ramona's maternal Grandmother was a twin born to a fiesty red-headed little woman Anna Bell (Vest) Liles and George Liles in Southern Iowa. Frederick's, (Ramona's husband) people came From Northern Missouri to Central Iowa when Frederick was fourteen-yrs-old. But, the family can be traced back to a John Frederick Eivins (correct spelling unknown) in Kentucky. As for Ramona's maternal grandfather Eugene Ackerly; died young in Southern Central Iowa. Ramona's Paternal identity unproven; therefore not able to relate any pertinent data. And would appreciate input from any person in the Osceola, Iowa, USA vicinity at the time (around 1944-45) and having such information to contact Ramona: fleivins@trvnet.net
