The Eklund Family of Wisconsin

Researching the family names Caliaro, DeWindt, Dyer, Eklund, Flagg, Grundstrom, Hanson, Persson, Petiniot, Rehnberg and Ryden. Countries included in this research are: Belgium, Denmark, England, Germany, Sweden, and the United States.

Our Swedish ancestors came to the United States between 1902 and 1922 and settled mainly around Rockford, Illinois. Our Belgian ancestors arrived mainly in 1853 and settled in Robinsonville, Wisconsin (now Champion) which is about 15 miles northeast of Green Bay.

I have been researching these families since 1972 and currently have about 2000 individuals in our family tree. I was a high school educator for 40 years teaching mathematics and science for 33 years and 7 years as the school district's technology coordinator. I retired from teaching in 2003 and now have more time to spend in research.
