| My four grandparents all came to the United States from what is now Slovenia between the years 1903 and 1908. My paternal grandparents were Ivan Ilersic (John Elersich) from Cerknica and Frances Sustarsic from Lipsan. My maternal grandparents were Jacob Recko (John Racko) from Celje and Theresa Zakrajsek from Scufce. I have a pretty good record of my family history but would like to know more about their Slovenian home towns at the turn of the century. I am trying to develope a clearer picture of how they lived before they came to the United States. My wife's father was Virgil Ray Robinson, born August 10,1897 in Illinois. His parents were James Robinson, born June, 1859 in Illinois and Susan (?) born December, 1868 in Illinois. James's family came from Ohio and Susan's mother came from Ireland - and thats all we know. Would like any additional information on this branch of the Robinson family and also the identity of Susan and her family and where in Ireland they came from. |
