We are researching the ELIOT/ADDISON, RIVAS/BEHAN, ANGOVE/VAN JAARSVELD family names.
These Eliots migrated from the British Isles in the early 1800s to South Africa. The Addison's went from Durham, England to South Africa about the same time. The Rivas root moved in the late 1870s from Spain via Cuba to South Africa. The Angove's went from Cornwall to South Africa in the early 1800s and settled in the Eastern Cape region. Van Jaarsveld's were Dutch who went out to the Cape in the 1600s. Behan's are of Irish descent.

The Eliots and Addisons were mainly mining people in the Kimberley diamond mines.

Any information would be appreciated. We are also willing to share any information that we have.
