Thomas Tyre received a land patent (by the crown; Arthur Dobbs, Royal Governor): of 100 acres in Craven County on the South Side of the Neuce River, including part of the low ground opposite Hollingsworth, joining Lewis Bryan, the side of the Great Swamp, and Lillington's Old field.

He was in the regiment under Col. Thomas Clarke, North Carolina, paid to November 15, 1783; R. Fenner, agent.
