Christopher Columbus Ellis first came to the colonies to fight for king George in the revolution war. he was with general burgoyne and surrendered at the battle of Saratoga in 1777. then in 1781 he joined the continental army in col. weissenfels regiment of levies in new York. after the war he got a land grant in greene co., NC in1791 on the French broad river.
