Business went under during depression and never got back up. He insisted on paying all his debts and often let people go that owed him, because of their circumstances during this time. My granny, his wife, would take in ironing, make corsages, clean houses, etc...so they could send children to college.
Grandpa died a month after I was born. Germans had just invaded poland.
