Polk's Directory for 1897 lists a "B. Joyce" as a widow in McKeesport. This is the correct location for Barbara Joyce's home at this time.
He was born in Ireland.⁽⁶⁸⁾ He was married to Barbara KANE between 1880 and 1885.

11. Barbara KANE was born in May 1856 in Ireland.^{(69) (70)} She immigrated in 1879 to United States. ⁽⁷¹⁾ She was naturalised in 1882 in United States. ⁽⁷²⁾ She died between 1920 and 1933.
Barbara Joyce is not in any photos with Leona Hunt and George Eller, even though the rest of the family is. This would tend to indicate that Barbara died before 1930.
Barbara Joyce was living with Anna and Tom Brislin in 1920, according to the 1920 Federal census.

Research for the following report was done by Suzanne Johnston, volunteer researcher.

We searched for the Joyce family in all of the Irish parishes on the South Side: St. Malachy, St. James, St. John the Evangelist, Holy Cross, St. Philip, and St. Mary of the Mount, as well as St. George, a German parish in or near the 30th ward. We also searched St. Mary of the Mount, the parish near the Point in Pittsburgh and St. Paul, located downtown near the Monongahela River in the 1880s.

We found only two baptisms for this Joyce family, both later than 1886. If you are able to locate this family in a city directory between 1885 and 1889, we might be able to suggest additional parishes to search.
