EIGHTH GENERATION
128. Henry ELLER Sr
(140)
(141) was born about 1724 in The Palatinate, Germany. He immigrated
on 25 Oct 1746 to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
(142)
From Ben Eller:
Henry Eller, Sr. traveled to America from his home in the Palatinate, Germany
with four brothers according to historian Jim Eller and records that recorded
travelers from Germany through England to America. All five brothers, being in
their 20's, traveled from Rotterdam to England then on to America. Henry arrived
on the ship Neptune on October 25, 1746 (and took his oath of allegience that
day), and is believed to be the youngest. Henry's decendents moved from the original
American home in Germantown (near Philadelphia), Pennsylvania to Washington County,
Maryland. Later many of his decendence moved to Ohio, moving westward into Indiana.
Henry was named co-executor (with Michael Gerber) of his brother George Michael's
will, executed on October 26, 1779 in Frederick County, Maryland.
He was baptised on 14 Apr 1754 in Lancaster County, Pennylvania.
(182)(142)
Henry and his wife, Elizabeth Bigler Eller were baptisted April 14, 1754 by Elder
Michael Franz of the Conalico Congregation of Lancaster County, Pennylvania,
Concalico District. Henry was a member of the German Brethren Baptist, which
were also called the Dunkards.
He died in Dec 1793 in Washington County, MD.

the "Neptune" on Octobr 25, 1746 in Philadelphia. Henry took his oath
of allegiance the same day.
In a book of genealogy by James Hook, and his wife Virginia Eller Hook, it tells
of the churches built near the ELLER farm where HENRY ELLER SR. and his family
lived: "...the original Dunkard migration to America in 1719, and in 1725,
they had formed their first church in Germantown, Pennylvania. By 1729 there
was a church at Constiga, some 15 miles south of Lancaster County, Pennylvania
where HENRY ELLER SR. and his wife were baptisted on April 14, 1753. Later still
the Piper Creek Church was formed at Union Bridge in Carroll County, Maryland;
2 miles N.E. of the ELLER farm; and the Beaver Dam Congregation of Piper Creek,
which was 2 1/2 miles from HENRY ELLER'S farm."
