The second postmaster was Thomas Bambrick, who received the appointment in 1823 or 1824, and

held the office for a number of years. He kept the office in a small log house that stood where John

Wilson's saddler shop now stands. He also dealt on a small scale, in connection with the post office,

in the grocery business.
