| Dear Family and Friends A birthday present of the Family Tree Maker software from Jill has now allowed me to embark on the adventure of tracing the Ellis and Lawrie family trees as far back as I can. This web site will allow you to view the research completed so far and give you the contact to submit names/dates/photos of our family. We hope this will be the start of an intersting journey which will culminate in producing a family tree book for Toby and Robin of their family history. We also wish to share with our families this information via the internet. [2003] I would like to say a massive thank you to my Mum (Pauline Ellis) who has now discovered a new hobby and turned into the Geneoligists equivilant of Miss Marples. She has spent thousands of hours trawling through library and many other records to trace back the Ellis side of the family to the early 1700's. She has also identified two of my Great Uncles who gave their lives in World War 1 - until her research we only knew their names - Sam and George. We now know their regiments and their resting places in France - Rememberance Sunday now has an added poignancy. Thanks Mum. Regards Bob and Jill Ellis(nee Lawrie) |
