| The Ellis family settled in Washington state in the late 1800s. Apparently stopped off in Wisconsin long enough to homestead in the Dunn County area and have several children born in the 1860s; Atlanta Rosetta, Joel Ead, and William Matthew. Matthew Ellis and Laura Ellen Payne married somewhere on the east coast. Matthew was born in New York, Laura in Drakes Mill, Crawford County Pennsylvania.Matthew died in Port Angeles Washington in 1902, Laura in Seattle Washington in 1919. |
