* The Elms Tree*

Updated February 1, 2001

The Elms Tree consists of an indepth look and record of my direct family and decendants. The Elms Tree has many branches by the names of Boyd (from Scotland) Druce from Middlesex, Matthews from Dorset, Ballard again from Dorset, Hancocks from Wiltshire, Kerr from Ayr, Scotland and finally Elms from Surry.

The common factor in all the names is their occupations, the vast majority were farmers or farm workers. Some of the branches extend to Australia,and the United States of America. This is mainly the Boyd's.

I have managed to trace back the Boyd's to 1790 and the remainder to the early part of the 19th centry.

The Matthews branch have a Luncheon reunion each year in October at Poole, where we compare recent information.

I would like to hear from any one who has/had ancestors with the name listed above to possibly exchange information.
